Moza Multi-Function Stalks Adapter for Fanatec DD1 / DD2 (Shaft extension needed)

This is an adapter to mount Mozas Multi-Functional Stalks to a Fanatec DD1 / DD2 Wheelbase.
The Clamp is based on the work of thehans (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2940715) with an added piece to trigger the turn signal reset.

DISCLAIMER: This work fits my personal need, this might not work for you. I am not responsible for any damage this might cause, please act responsibly and check the fit and potential issues before using it on your wheelbase. Wheelbases can produce a high amount of torque, this isn't a joke. Be careful. This is not a professional design. I am not en engineer nor an expert on 3D modeling. I built this model as a quick fix only because I couldn't find one anywhere. There might be a much better solution to this even though this works for me perfectly.

REQUIREMENTS: You WILL NEED a shaft extension for this adapter to work. This will not work on a stock base with no extension. I use a 75mm extension I got off eBay a while ago which seems to be out of stock now (https://www.ebay.de/itm/364609784149?var=634125552246). This will probably work for 100mm extensions available today but you might have to use the standoffs provided with the stalks to bring the stalks closer to your wheel. This will have to be adjusted according to your personal needs and preferences. This is not a "one fits all" solution.

In addition to the 3D-printed parts you will need:

4 Threaded Inserts M6 (OD ~10mm)
4 Machine Screws M6 x 25 to mount the adapter to the wheelbase (I used hexagon head socket, will probably work with a lens head as well)
2 Machine Screws M6 x 30 for the collar
6 Washers (M6 ID, OD ~14mm), for Wheelbase and Collar screws
2 M6 Nuts for the collar
You can use screws provided with the Moza Stalks to mount the Stalks to the adapter

DIRECTIONS:

I suggest printing this with PETG, ASA or ABS. PLA might be too brittle for an extended time of use. Print with the side for mounting the stalks down on the build plate, use supports from build plate for the screw holes.

  1. Put M6 threaded inserts into the 4 holes to mount the Stalks to. You could fill the holes in your slicer and screw directly into the plastic but I strongly suggest using threaded inserts as you can take the stalks off and remount them easily without destroying the adapter.
  2. Put the collar on the shaft of the wheelbase. This has to be mounted right behind the QR2. Insert Nuts into the collar, use 2 M6x30 screws and washers. The protruding part has to face the left side. Make sure it is aligned as in the pictures. Don't over tighten.
  3. Mount adapter to the wheelbase using 4 M6x25 screws and washers. Try to align the adapter in the center of the wheelbase.
  4. Mount the stalks to the adapter using the screws that came with the stalks. Again, make sure everything is centered.

After that the stalks should be mounted firmly and the turn signal should reset after the turn.
Have fun!
