Honeycomb Blocks for Fischertechnik
A set of hexagonal parts that can be interlocked together to build hexagonal planes. The parts are compatible with the Fischertechnik Construction Toy System.
Each side has a dimension of 15mm
There are following elements:
- Single Hexagon (Benzol)
- Hexagon-Doublet (Naphtalin)
- Hexagon-Triplet (Phenalen)
- Half-Benzol
- Half-Benzol2
The Design is made with FreeCAD. File is provided with the STL-Files
There is a Spreadsheet to control the grove (negative interlock feature) and feathers (positive interlock feature).
The parts can be very sticky and might require sanding. With the parameters the groves and feathers can be adjusted.
The stickiness depends also on nozzle diameter and printing parameters.
ZA - distance circle of feather / grove to boundary (2mm + delta)
FW - feather width
FD - feather diameter
FT - feather height
NW - grove width, NW > FW
ND - grove diameter, ND > FD
NT - grove height, NT > FT
Note: The planes are very rigid and parts may stick together. To break up the planes place the structure on a wooden plate and apply force with a rubber hammer to unlock the elements. Eventually wider groves will help.
