VENTOLIN inhaler helper for people with limited grip strength
This assistive device allows a person with severe grip strength issues to still use a VENTOLIN inhaler, as they only have to pull two long levers together, with no strong gripping action required. Developed and tested for and with a family member.
There are four printable parts. Face and FrontHandle can be joined using superglue. Body and BackHandle are joined with superglue, and strengthened with a 9.5 or 10mm wooden dowel installed top to bottom. M3 bolts from each side are sufficient to create a hinge.
The model Inhaler assistive device by MistaKD was reference for key geometry for the first iteration, helping to locate the hinge pin, press ball, and inhaler mouth hole shape and angle, and while all of this was adjusted slightly following real-world testing, the MistaKD's model definitely assisted in shortening the timeline between design a working version - thank you!
