Dungeon Blocks XL compatible standard 3x3 grid base with kitbashing instructions

If you love the new Dungeon Blocks XL Set but want to have XL parts that are more compatible to your tons of already printed standard grid tiles... here we go.

Kitbashing Instructions

Prerequisites

Download and install free Prusa Slicer: https://www.prusa3d.com/page/prusaslicer_424/

Detailed Steps (see Screenshots)

  1. Open plain#base,low.3x3_10mm.openblocks.stl with Prusa Slicer
  2. Add the XL block you want to print.
    • right-click the object -> Add part -> Load ...
  3. Align the merged parts: In the right side panel...
    • click on the XL block part to select it
    • switch to "Object coordinates" in "Part manipulation"
    • Set both x and y Position to 0
  4. Cut and separate the XL block from the XL base: In the right side panel...
    • click on the merged object to select it
    • click the Cut Tool in the left tool bar
    • set "Cut position" to 10 mm
    • set "Cut into" to "Parts"
  5. Remove the original XL base: In the right side panel...
    • right-click on second XL block part (ending with "B")
    • click "Delete" in popup
  6. Print directly with Prusa Slicer or Export STL by:
    • right-click whole object -> 'Export as STL/OBJ...'
