On30 18ft Billmeyer and Small open excursion style passenger carriages
An attempt to recreate the open passenger carriages I saw in some very grainy photographs of a Billmeyer and Small catalog and an even grainier photograph of one in use on the narrow gauge Peach Bottom Railway in Pennsylvania. They resemble low-side gondolas with a roof and bench seating added. While the pictures I found also had horizontal cross-bars I didn't include them here both because they'd just be rectangles that you could make from plasticard and because open sides better facilitate side-loading. They also bear a strong resemblance to the gondolas I've seen on some rideable miniature railways like the now defunct Junction Valley Railroad so if you want to make something like that you can just leave off the roof and its support beams. As per usual I've included versions with and without coupler boxes, and in this case I've also included versions of the body with the stakes for the roof integrated into it or separated. I find the stakes can be a bit fragile if not printed laying flat so I recommend printing them separately for that reason, but they'll definitely assemble faster with the stakes integrated into the body. The files "passenger_body_stakes" and "passenger_body_stakes_nocoupler" are the body with the stakes integrated, with and without coupler boxes, while "passenger_body" and "passenger_body_nocoupler" lack stakes and will require you also print 8 of the "stake_x8" file. Regardless of which body you use you'll also need 6 of the "passenger_seat_x6" and 2 of the "dupont_brakewheel_x2."
