LiteBox - Parametric Stackable Box System

A lightweight (low cost) box design with snap-fit joints for tool-free assembly. Optimized for FDM printing (prints flat, no supports needed).

Features

  • Stackable: Integrated bump/receptacle system
  • Wall options:
    • Solid
    • Voronoi patterned (using external lib, a little slow when rendering)
    • Custom (use modifier STL + slicer per-object layers/infill settings)
  • Tool-free assembly: Snap-fit design (glue is optional for permanence)
  • Reversible walls: Flat interior/exterior options
  • Parametric: Customizable via OpenSCAD

Included Files

  • litebox2.scad (main OpenSCAD file)
  • Sample STLs (90×70×40mm):
    • litebox2-solid.stl (solid walls)
    • litebox2-voronoi.stl (Voronoi pattern)
    • litebox2-mod.stl (slicer modifier for custom walls)
    • litebox2-preview.stl (assembly example)

Photos Examples

All photos show 90×70×40mm solid version with modifier STL:

  • Vented version: 0 top/bottom layers + 12% honeycomb infill (lightest: 10.9g, prints faster and cleaner than Voronoi)
  • Closed version: 1 bottom layer + 8% honeycomb infill (13g)
  • Reversed walls: Same configuration as the closed version

(all weights measured in PLA with 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height)
