Continuum arm (for my animatronic Cyn from Murder Drones)
This arm design utilizes several ball-and-socket joints for movement. I wanted to keep the arm floppy, so I came up with a new design to get rid of my old design with springs. Now in the new design, the ball has small, rounded rectangles that work with cut-outs in the socket to prevent any twisting of the spacing disks. There are three pegs on the top and bottom of the different segments that have holes in them. By running strings through the holes in the pegs and attaching them to motors, it's possible to make them autonomous. It's also possible to add however many middle segments to the arm as you want.
