In the Zork games, the Grue is a malevolent shadow that prowls the hidden depths of the earth, driven by an endless hunger. From fearless adventurers to cunning enchanters, nothing escapes its favored menu. Only the light keeps its ravenous appetite at bay, for in brightness, the Grue dares not tread. In "Zork: The Undiscovered Underground" Grues are described as having "fish-mouthed head, razor-sharp claws and glowing fur all over."
