Camera Mount for K40 / K40+ lid mount
In wanting to mount my 102° camera for Lightburn on my Omtech K40+ printer, for use with the lid closed, I ran into the problem of the existing mount assemblies being too tall. My K40+ has 15 mm of space to keep clear from crashing into the gantry's cables, and this assembly keeps under 14mm.
This is a remix of Narosenberg's Lightburn Camera Mount (for the camera slot and square camera lid) and Hl-Yeah's Lighburn Camera Mount (for the square camera lid).
This mount is as low-profile as possible, and still keep compatibility with both of their lids.
There is no need for the bracket or knobs.
There are two K40+ printers, it seems, one with a flat door (use the 'flat' option), and the other slightly older one with an 8.5 degree angled door (use either the one opening to the left or the right, as you prefer for your mounting plan).
Then, print the lid (square vs round) of your choice. Test the location with low-strength double-sided tape, or simply calculate the centre of the work surface and place the camera there. The corrected angle of the mount should have it pointing directly down.
You can then use the cover file from either of the two source projects (round camera vs square camera). Depending on the thickness of your double-sided tape, you may want to sand down the clips a bit if they protrude beyond the base. Mine interfered in getting good adhesion to the glass until I did this. I haven't gotten around to modifying the two covers to fix this issue, however, as the sandpaper was a 20 second fix.
This mount will work with other camera lens angles, although the 102° camera provides good viewing angle for the 200 x 300mm work surface of the Omtech K40+ with the lid closed. Based on request, I also uploaded a screen capture from the camera with the lid closed. Yes, lighting in the top section needs to be fixed still. The LightBurn camera alignment burn is still in the original location, giving orientation.
