Tattoo Removal Laser Mount for tripod
I needed to mount the hand piece for a tattoo removal laser so that I could work on my back without an assistant. This holds the laser with a 1mm clearance for neoprene lining inside. A rotoscope camera attached to the tip will allow safe close up viewing of the work area with a mount for a iPhone on top to mirror for a wider second view.
It is assembled with M3 screws and threaded inserts. For the control handles I use carbon fiber, but wooden dowels will be cheaper. Make 2 of the clamps and elbows. The dowels fit inside the side holes through the handle clamps. If the dowels are glued inside the clamps but not inside the receiver holes the clamps will allow for adjustment and removal.
The hole in the bottom half of the main body that goes through the tripod mount is so that a .25" diameter carbon fiber or wooden rod can be glued in. If two part epoxy is coated heavily before insertion once it is cured it will be incredibly strong with no risk of delamination or breaking once mounted.
The 2 screw holes on the 45º side of the top are for threaded inserts so that another attachment can be added to hold the rotoscope cable. As yet, not designed.
See picture for what it should look like. The elbows are quick and not refined as they could be.
