Hudson Feed & Grain (HO SCALE)
Aight, as the vote in the discord requested.
This is the Feed store in Hudson, NY.
Uhh, ye its a thing I guess.
Oh there was some confusion from some of you more modern modelers on the purpose of the 2nd floor door.
So back in the day, if you had a feed store like this, with a 2nd floor for storage and a 1st for a shop, you didn't want to lug anything up stairs, so you had a door on the 2nd floor and a pulley on a post sticking out the front. this means you can use less effort taking it up and you don't have to walk up stairs. hell some people would even hitch a horse to the rope on the pulley and use the horse to hoist the bags up. But yeah, people were crafty back then with their work, hell there's an old saying thats really good for victorian modelers that i heard once: "A worker never wants to walk up hill at the end of the day", and i think that rings true in this design haha.
Basically you put the four walls together on the 1st floor, which keeps it straight. then you do the interior up and put on the interior walls, then youcut some floor joists how you like, put em on, put the 2nd floor on, and do that interior up. Then put on the roof on or if you're feeling frisky print out another first floor floor and put it on as the ceiling for the 2nd floor. Oh then you put a string through the pulley on the front. so ye thats how you assemble it :3
Oh, btw ty to DeltaX for making my VR avatar printable so I can shove him on layouts and cause confusion and delay.
