Cooling Mod Cover for AliExpress 12V PSU

This is not just a cover, but a complete cooling upgrade for a cheap 12V power supply.
Normally, these PSUs overheat after 30–45 minutes, start flickering, or shut down in pulses.

To fix this, I modified the PSU:

Completely remove/cut off the original metal cover (I used a knife).

Flip the PCB upside down so all components face upwards for better cooling.

Trim the case edges near the wires to make the new printed cover fit tightly.

Print the cover with a round vent hole and grille for a 40×40 mm fan.

Mount the fan (12V) and connect it directly to the PSU output.

Now the fan blows directly on the PCB, the air flows down and exits through two drilled holes (Ø6–7 mm) at the back of the PSU case.
Result: much lower temperature, no overheating smell, and stable continuous operation.

⚙️ How to use:

Print in PLA or PETG (0.2 mm layer recommended).

Follow the steps: cut the old cover → flip PCB → trim case → install printed cover.

Attach a 40×40 mm fan to the vent hole. ( I attached the fan on the back side with glue. )

Power the fan from the PSU’s 12V output.
