Bore snake sleeve

Protect your bore snake from its' metal burrs. (inspired by @milspecmoehring on Printables, to make it parametric and adapt to my needs)

The included STLs work well for mine, and I created additional sizes for some common diameters.

If you wish further modifications, I have also uploaded my STEP and Fusion f3d files so that you can modify it yourself. My parameters are messy, as usual.

Modify the ‘Calibre’ parameter for either your bore caliber, or the diameter of the burs on your bore snake.

Adjust the ‘EmbLabel’ to change the label that is embossed on the sleeve.

Adjust the OveralLength to adjust the … overall length - I've found 5-10mm longer than the section with burrs is fine.

I printed mine with 3 walls, which makes it essentially 100% fill for the thinnest sections (3+3=6 walls) - with the assumption that the burrs will gradually chew away at the sleeve. I'm sure you can get away with less.

I also found I needed to print with a brim, or else it would often fail by sliding or tipping over off my build plate.
