Sikorsky S-55 (H-19)
This is my take on the famed Sikorsky S-55, designed and scaled for HO (1:87) Scale.
There are a few other takes on this Helicopter, but they didn't really capture the design features I like most about the S-55, so I decided to make my own.
This model is printed in 2 main parts, the nose and tail section, with mounting holes for 1.75mm filament to hold the 2 halves together. There is also a pocket to insert an M2 nut that lets you mount the main rotor blade with an M2 screw. The tail rotor is also designed to be mounted with an M2 screw. Both holes may need to be gently widened depending on your printer's fidelity.
The gear prints attached, so supports are necessary, and even so the front wheels can be fragile, I'd recommend dabbing them with a little CA glue just to firm them up.
This model would handle scaling up quite well, but scaling down would likely prove difficult.
