Borg Cube with alignment helpers
My goal with this remix was to create a borg cube whose panels could be printed flat on the print bed then easily reassembled in the correct fashion. I had tried a few other models that I could not get to fit/stay together, so I took matters into my own hands.
These panels are all based on the borg_cube_v3.stl model from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1608509 . Each panel has chamfered edges, markings to know which panel joins each edge, and a frame with nubs to help with alignment/stability. Some details may be lost from the original model because of the chamfered edges (which left some floating bodies that I trimmed out).
I printed these panels with a couple layers of green, a few layers of clear/glow in the dark, and the rest black. The intention is a Chistmas tree ornament that will be illuminated from the inside using a light that is already on the tree. The panels I show in one of the photos have slightly different markings than what the uploaded models show. I've included a sample image showing how the different edge markings are meant to align.
