Dell OptiPlex Disk Drive Slot to 2.5 inch SSD Adaptor

This is a slot adaptor to replace the Dell OptiPlex slim optical disk drive with a 2.5 inch SSD or HDD. It can probably be used on any Dell OptiPlex that uses the slim disk drive and mounting mechanism as shown in the pictures. These are found on the small form factor and maybe the mini tower chassis models of the series 5 OptiPlex models (and maybe the series 6 models too.) I had a OptiPlex 7040, but also tested it on a 5040 and 5050.

You'll need some screws to mount the SSD/HDD into this adaptor. You can also get an adaptor to use the slimline SATA power cable used by the disk drive in a regular SATA power connector. I just cut off the slimline one and spliced a regular SATA power cable into the dell 6 pin power cable.

I printed this in PETG to better hold up to the warmer temperatures inside the PC case.
