1:48 Scale Aircraft Wall Mount

Articulating Wall Mount for 1:48 Scale aircraft or whatever you can put a 4mm hole into. Two part design with a chunky socket integrated into the wall mount and a few variations of ball joints for different aircraft. The mount is pretty much invisible when looking directly at the wall. I've made these permanent by gluing in the locating peg, but I've had small success with boring out a 3.5mm hole so I can friction/press fit the peg and it be removeable. I made the Twin Intake Version with a small chuck to fit in between the intakes/engines if it has twin engines (tested on SU-27, F-14, and F-18; all without a center fuel tank).

Included are:

  • 6x Mounting Platforms with integrated sockets
    o 3x Short (24mm height) platforms, and 3x Tall (31mm height) platforms
    a. No mounting holes to be used with Command Strips or to be placed horizontal
    b. Countersunk screw holes to be used with #8 Wood Screws
    c. Small recessed nail holes to be used with standard picture hanging nails
-3x Different Ball Mounts to attach to your Aircraft
o Ball Joint with 4mm Peg: best used on A/C with a single intake or side intakes (i.e. F-4, F-16), or anything with a flatter belly fairing
o Ball Joint for use with twin intakes that extend into/past the belly (i.e. SU-27, F-14, and F-18)
o Hollow Ball Joint with counterbore hole for use with an M4 screw to screw into the A/C (Recommended to mount an M4 nut on the inside of the fuselage)

EDIT 09DEC25
-added ball joint for M4 screw
o tested with Socket Cap, Low Head, and Button Head. Phillips Head should also work, unknown if hex caps will
-added a Wall Mount with no mounting holes to be used with 2x command strips or to be placed horizontal (desk, shelf, etc)
-added a Wall Mount with larger countersunk holes to be used with #8 Wood Screws (tested using #8 x 1 screw)
-added "Tall Mount" versions of the Wall Mount, giving 7mm more height and 5°-10° more rotation depending on the aircraft

I'm still planning to add:
-a ball with an adjustable attachment for center fuel tanks
-a ball with an adjustable clamp for rockets (i.e. the Saturn V that I haven't completed)
-smaller version for 1:72 A/C
-larger version for 1:32
