Cable Tray Vertical Elbow 200×42

This project presents a 3D model of a vertical cable tray elbow designed for 200×42 mm cable trays, compatible with the BAKS “Cable Trays – H42” system.
The elbow guides cables from a horizontal tray section vertically downward while maintaining a minimum bending radius of 100 mm, suitable for typical low-voltage and control cabling.

The model includes a matching cover, ensuring continuity with standard tray systems and improving cable protection and aesthetics.

Manufacturing Notes (3D Printing)

The elbow was successfully printed as a test part.

Printing with supports yields better surface quality but requires a large amount of support material, increasing print time and filament waste.

To avoid supports, the model was split in PrusaSlicer using a dovetail joint, allowing support-free printing.

This approach requires post-processing and gluing of the parts.

Important note:
Bonding printed parts inevitably introduces a structural weak point, especially if the adhesive process is not optimal.
This is a known limitation of the chosen manufacturing method rather than the design itself.

Intended Use & Disclaimer

While the model may serve as a functional replacement when printed with flame-retardant or technical filaments, it is not certified for industrial, commercial, or safety-critical installations. Any real-world use is entirely at the user’s own responsibility and should comply with local regulations and standards.
