Bible Times Israel Map 360mm x 540mm

These tiles when put together can be used to create maps of Israel during Old Testament or New Testament times. Modern Israel goes much further to the south. The vertical exaggeration for this is 5x. The first time I printed it I did the map at 2x, but that really does not show the terrain well enough. As for the numbers, 1 is north, 2 is middle, and 3 is south. Since the Dead Sea's level is dropping over a meter a year, I adjusted the level to match Bible times (most of the Jordan's water gets pumped out for various uses in Israel). Overall N to S is about 200 miles, and E to W is about 145 miles.

Because the Jordan Valley is well below sea level, the W tiles have pretty thick bases. If you want to save a little plastic, print the W versions with posts.

I have found that superglue works pretty well to join these things, but you should have some kind of backing to keep them from splitting at the seams. I have used multiple methods, but if you print these with rafts, you can cut up the rafts and use parts to glue small backing sections.

Because I am mainly a professor of Hebrew and Old Testament, my photos have far more detailed markings for OT times. If I get roads marked for the NT map, I will upload photos of that as well.

I used https://touchterrain.geol.iastate.edu/ to generate these models.
