Build Your Own Constellation
Turn the dials (lining up the letters by the arrow) to create new constellations of alien worlds. Put your flashlight up to the dial and see the light make constellations on the wall. If the three letters spell a word like fox, dog, ell, cat or bug the students can connect the dots to make the animal. Or it doesn't need to spell a word - they can still connect the dots of the their constellation and tell a story about it. There are 8 holes in the dial at an angle that originate 120mm above the dial. So students need to hold the flashlight about 8 inches away from the middle. I give credit to my wife for the idea.
