B and D mouse hand sanding block
I got myself a B&D mouse sander, and realized that a lot of the time I only needed to sand by hand, and I had all these strange shaped, Velcro backed sanding pads. So I wanted a sanding block that would take them. It seems that everyone makes one, but the cheapest I could find was 10 bucks (CAD) and 10 bucks is 10 bucks... So I went looking for a 3d print, and none exist. So here's the thing.
The original thing is a replacement part for a sander. I've modded it because I knew it would be the right size and odd shape.
You can print it with no rafts and no supports. I made mine out of PLA with 3 wall and 55% AI infill, but I'm sure pretty much anything would be fine.
I got a meter of 100mm wide hook and loop sticker on aliexpress. You can make quite a few of these with a meter. I stuck the hook side to the block, and then trimmed the shape with scissors. It turned out great. I noticed that you can also buy pre-trimmed replacement pads for your sander on Amazon, but it's normally a more expensive option... Remember, I was too cheap to pay ten buck for a commercially made version of this... and plus the excitement of the challenge, the satisfaction of making something with your own hands (so to speak), and various whatnot.
