trex 500 one piece direct drive frame
this project still in work
I have currently built two of them, one with a 5065 140KV motor and the other with a 5065 270KV motor.
The 140KV version reaches a rotor speed of up to 2,500 RPM in hover mode. It is suitable for relaxed flights.

If you need something more powerful, the 270KV version is better. I limited the RPM to 3000 in the governor settings. However, after each flight, you need to wait for the motor to cool down so as not to melt the plastic.

For the main motor, I use an AM32 80A ESC, https://ali.click/gfl481o
For the tail rotor, I use a 6S 20A ESC with Bluejay firmware and a XING E-Pro 2306 1700KV motor with a 7035 propeller
There are 2 options for mounting the motor (diagrams in the attachments):
- Replace the motor shaft with a hollow tube with an outer diameter of 8 mm and an inner diameter of 7 mm. This will allow you to use the stock main rotor shaft
- Make a new 200mm-long shaft that combines the motor shaft and the main shaft. This option is more reliable. For ease of installation, the files include a special tool for centering the motor bell housing
The tail boom can be made from a 16x15x460mm carbon tube https://ali.click/feu481x
The landing skid pipes can be made from 6mm-diameter aluminum tubing
