Roman Doric Column - No Supports
This is the very first model I made on my own. It is relatively simple, but should be an accurate representation of a Roman Doric column. The models will need to be scaled down since I designed it with a 100mm base and 750mm overall height.
The Roman Doric column is the simplest of the three types of columns. It contains 20 flutes that span most of the length of the column and has relatively simple base and capital. The column itself, as designed, starts at 100mm diameter and increases to 102mm about 1/3 of the way up before narrowing to 83.3mm at the top.
Alignment holes are included on the column, but are small enough to not need supports. Alignment pins are included on the base and capital. They are sized such that the base can only go in one place. They may be a tight fit, so be careful when assembling.
I am currently working on the Ionic column and hope to have that available soon.
