Go Kart Front fender bracket - left Kandi KD-110
Continuing the RestoMod on this Kandi KD-110
Here is the Front Left Fender and Mounting Bracket. Planning to include the rear soon. I have flat topped tires in front and rounded tires in back so the fenders are shaped as such.
I'm printing this in ABS but I may print again in TPU. I could only find the left bracket available online and it was upwards of $20 just for the bracket and another $20 for the fender... and that's just for one side. So total cost to get new fenders for the front would be $80 plus taxes and shipping...
I made the bracket in Blender using a portion of the underside faces of the fender then combined that with my measurements and manually created bracket that attaches to the cart's two metal holes. The Front Fender itself was made by AI using a simple prompt: "Can you help me with only the fender part? I need a fender that is 6 inches wide and 10 inches long? The tire it will cover is a 12 in in diameter go kart tire with a flat profile, not very rounded."
UPDATE - I noticed the bracket is actually too long so I have an updated version that I will post shortly. I also adjusted it to be stronger and have some guidance on print orientation which will be reflected in the next file upload. FYI - the bolts you need are M10x16 (not included in these files). I linked the M10x16 file I used for the threads - just print out 6 of those!
Also the Fender v3.1 file is the one to use so the fender covers the wheel at a lower point.
Next steps:
- Front Fender - consider angling the brackets slightly so the fender appears flat - currently angles out slightly
- Rear Fender - Combine Tube clamps and support for Rear Fender (rounded vs the flat version for the front tires).
- Post mirror STL files (for the right side) front and rear
