Collimation Stand for 1.25" Laser Collimators
Laser collimators for Newtonian / Dobsonian telescopes are a simple way of checking collimation - but ony if they themselves are collimated!
Yes your collimator may be out of collimation.
With this simple stand you can check and adjust the laser's collimation. Way better than other stands I've seen for this purpose as this one uses cheap roller bearings.
It doesn't need particularly fine print settings, it'll work with a quick print.
Use finer settings if you want the text to look better.
You will need :
4x roller bearings (693ZZ) 8mm x 4mm with 3mm bore.
4x M3x 12 to M3x20 bolts. Doesn't matter which.
Once printed I glued mine to a small block of wood to give it a heavier, flat base.
You can see it in use, with instructions in this video : (check back in a few days...)
