Chinese Laser Air Assist (Poor Mans)

My daughter bought the 'ol Ebay Chinese 40W Laser engraver/cutter. Not bad for the price. Anyway it has no air assist and I didn't want to get the full air compressor, curly hose, etc. So I decided to try a little fan mounting on the head. I tried a few designs with different fan orientations. This one (the third) is the best as the fan doesn't interfere with the range of motion. Early trials are that it's worthwhile. The difference in smoke / flame marks cutting or engraving wood and cardboard is quite dramatic. Haven't tried cutting plastic yet.

The design and implementation is at the "crude" stage. The whole assembly is held on with wire and the openscad file is really bad. I'm starting to work on a solution to get the wire (12v supply) to the head in a sensible and simple fashion. So please take this as an early idea and proof of concept only. There is no fan support bracket yet.
