Summary

Windmill - vertical with 3 blades.

You can print 3 different models:

1 - No bearing.
2 - Bearing + gear.
3 - Bearing + ring gear.

You can use to light LEDs, recharge batteries or gadgets.

Instructions

All you need:

3x paper sheet.
1x BBQ stick or threaded rod 4mm diameter.
1x Elastic band(version 1).
1x DC motor 3v to 5v.
screws(versions 2 and 3), nuts and washers.
2x 624 bearing 13mm x 5mm x 4mm(versions 2 and 3).

Pieces for version 1:

1x windtop.
6x windarm.
3x windblade_nr.
3x windblade_mr.
1x windwheel.
1x windbase.
3x windfoot.
1x motorwheel.
1x motorbase.

Pieces for version 2:

1x windtop_bearing.
6x windarm.
3x windblade_nr.
3x windblade_mr.
1x windgear.
1x windbase.
3x windfoot.
1x motorgear.
1x motorbase.
2x windbearing.

Pieces for version 3:

2x windtop_bearing.
6x windarm.
3x windblade_nr.
3x windblade_mr.
1x windbase.
3x windfoot.
1x motorgear.
1x motorbase.
1x windringgear.

How to mount the windmill:

Glue the windblades and the paper sheets.
Join the windarm with the windtops and/or windweel.
Fix the windblade set in the windtop and windwhell.
Join the windbase with the windfoot.
Fix the motor wheel in the motor shaft.
Fix the motor in the motorbase.
Fix the motorbase in one windfoot.
Fix the stick in the base.
Put the winblade set in the stick.
Adjust the position for the windwheel/windgear/windringgear
and the motorwheel(version 1) or the motorgear(version 2 and 3).
Use the elastic band as a belt(version 1).
Adjust the distance of the motor set.
Use paper strips and glue to hold the pieces in place.
Use paper strips and glue to make the stick stronger.

For the electronics is recommended the use of diode and LM7803 or LM7805 voltage regulator for 3v or 5v respectively.
Go easy with small motors but for big motors you need strong winds to run it.
I am working in an easy motor/generator but no way to finish, test and publish all until the end of the challenge.
